The Prague Quadrennial is releasing a documentary video focusing on lighting and sound design. In November 2016, we launched a project 36Q°, which was split in two parts: a site-specific exhibition lit up the unique space of the Lapidary of the National Museum; running parallel, the International Conference of Theatre Designers at the Czech Museum of Music played its theoretical counterpart.
What happens when you bring together brilliant theatre designers equipped with cutting edge lighting and sound technology provided by Robe and d&b audiotechnik, and let them design in the unique space of the Lapidary filled with ancient statues? The „making of“ video documents the creation of such an exhibition while giving an insider´s look at the professions of lighting, media, and sound designer. Featuring the excellent designers Sarah EC Maines, Kathrine Sandys, Nick Hunt, Rob Kaplowitz and Jakub Daníček.
Project 36Q° was organized by the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space in collaboration with ROBE, Institut of Lighting Design, National museum and d&b audiotechnik. Media partners were Prague Public Transit Company and Radio 1.
