Kintera belongs to the most successful and most interesting artists of the youngest generation. His work is also known abroad where he has taken part in a number of exhibitions. He deals with doubts about possibilities and a role of art. He keeps asking questions through installations, videos and performances. His questions draw from everyday experience, they react to social and political problems. Kintera’s works – ambiguous as they may seem – are generally understandable and exciting. The first outstanding project is TO from 1996. It foreshadowed the majority of principles that appear in Kintera’s work until nowadays: an imaginative object drawing the author and viewers into another (a bit shifted) world. All Kintera’s works are technically demanding objects that move, speak, smoke or spark. The author attentively follows not only their appearance, function, message but also their mechanics. Krištof Kintera also addresses the public with performances and theatre stagings with the Jednotka team, mostly right in the streets.
