HOW A COUNTRY OR REGION MAY TAKE PART IN THE PQ
PROCESS OF INVITATION
The official invitations for individual countries and regions to take part in the PQ, including the application forms, are sent out with assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and Czech embassies abroad approximately two and a half years before the next edition of the PQ.
Czech embassies distribute the official invitation to the appropriate cultural and performing arts institutions and organizations in each country and region (e.g. ministries of culture, International Theatre Institute, OISTAT national centers etc.). These institutions and organizations are asked to inform performing arts practitioners and organizations in their countries about the PQ, and to organize and curate their countries and regions' participation in the Quadrennial, or appoint another institution to supervise the artistic and organizational preparation of exhibitions.
PROCESS OF APPLICATION
Each country and region participating in the PQ must appoint its own curator. The curator sends the obligatory application for the individual sections (Section of Countries and Regions; Architecture Section and Student Section) to the Organizer of the PQ. The curator coordinates the representation of their country or region in the individual sections, and negotiates all matters concerning their participation with the Organizer of the PQ.
Further artistic and organizational conditions of participation in the PQ are stated in the Statute and Concept of each PQ edition.
