Cindy Limauro designs lighting for theatre, opera, dance and architecture. She is a member of United Scenic Artists, the International Association of Lighting Designers and was named a Fellow of the Institute by USITT for Outstanding Contribution to the Theatre. She heads the Lighting Design program at Carnegie Mellon University and also serves as the US representative on the Education Commission of OISTAT. In January 2007, she received the Henry van de Velde Award in Antwerp for her contribution in promoting an interdisciplinary and intercultural approach to architecture education. Her designs have been exhibited in Prague, Toronto and published in numerous publications including Stage Directions Magazine March 2006 “5 Remarkable Women in Theatre.”
