Appearance of the PQ in Tokyo and Paris

Introduction of the PQ at the Tokyo Performing Arts Market

The PQ will appear in Tokyo, March 1st-3rd. There you can ask questions, see photos and find event materials at booth 32, and watch a video  presentation of the PQ on March 3rd in the Meeting room between 13,30-15,30. Read more.  

Introduction of the PQ in Paris

On March 16th the PQ will gather at the Unesco House, Cinema Room – 7, place de Fontenoy, in Paris 7. A presentation, including a screening of short films, will take place from 3.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Additional appearances of the PQ will occur during the year in different countries – you will be kept up to date.

A new section for PQ exhibitors is available on this website.

This section will provide national curators and coordinators with detailed information about the organization and preparation of the Prague Quadrennial 2011. The Organisational Manualincludes information about the overall concept of PQ 2011, individual sections and projects, technical and organizational arrangements, the deadlines for information that will be requested from you as well as contacts for the PQ team.

Symposia Scenography Expanding

Scenography Expanding is a series of symposia on the topic of scenographic practice and performance design. 


With the aim of initiating and hosting an active and trans-disciplinary discourse on the notion of an expanding scenography, the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space issues an invitation and a Call for Papers for Scenography Expanding 1-3 in 2010. The symposia will engage with notions of spectatorship, artists/authors, and curating in relation to the diverse artistic positions in contemporary performance design. PQ has a new place - Veletržní Palace

Time and place – these two variables have been set for the next Prague Quadrennial (PQ). The 12th PQ will take place in the Veletržní Palace (the building of the Czech National Gallery) from June 16th to June 26th, 2011. The Veletržní Palace is only a few hundred meters away from PQ’s previous location, the Industrial Palace within the Prague Exhibition Grounds.

57 countries applied for the PQ 2011

At this moment there are 57 countries signed up to participate in the next PQ. There are a number of traditional PQ participating countries registered, such as the USA, Germany, and Norway, but also countries like India and Kazakhstan. For contact information see the List. whole news
